“The Cavern” is a full interior design and build project for a 1205 sq ft HDB residence, envisioned as a modern cave-cabin retreat within an urban setting. The concept is expressed through a restrained palette of soft whites and warm neutrals. The textures of the custom-finished walls, which were carefully hand-crafted to evoke the raw yet refined qualities of carved stone.

Every curve, arch, and recessed volume within the home was custom crafted, demanding a high level of precision and close collaboration between the design team, craftsmen, and homeowner. The space is shaped through volume, texture, and light, allowing the architecture itself to become the focal point. Interior elements were carefully crafted and refined to ensure visual continuity and a seamless flow between spaces.

Timber ceiling beams and warm wood joinery introduce contrast and warmth, grounding the home while maintaining visual calm. Despite its organic atmosphere, the layout remains highly functional. Modular planning, concealed storage, and clean lined cabinetry to ensure flexibility for daily living without compromising the design intent. A quietly expressive space where form, texture, and livability are carefully balanced.
